Blast & Brush ("we", "us", "our") provides jet washing and fence painting services across Cardiff and South Wales. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website and our booking service, why, and what rights you have over it. We are the "data controller" for the information described below.
Who we are
Blast & Brush, run by James Hughes. Contact: 07984 371 669 or WhatsApp.
What we collect
- Contact & job details — name, phone number, postcode/address, the service you want and rough measurements, and any photos you choose to upload.
- Booking details — the date/time you book and the price and deposit for the job.
- Payment information — deposits are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details — Stripe processes and secures these.
- Marketing preference — if you tick the "keep me updated" box, we record that you agreed to hear from us.
Why we use it
- To give you a quote and provide the booking service — this is necessary to carry out our contract with you.
- To manage our business, scheduling and accounts — our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
- To send you offers or reminders — only if you've opted in; you can withdraw this consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the booking system:
- Stripe — to process your deposit payment securely.
- Google Calendar — to schedule your job and check availability.
- Cloudflare — who host this website and its booking system.
These providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they maintain their own appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses). We don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
How long we keep it
- Completed job and payment records: kept for up to 6 years, in line with standard UK tax and accounting record-keeping requirements.
- Quote enquiries that don't turn into a booking: deleted after 12 months.
- Marketing preferences: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Cookies
This site uses one cookie: a secure login session for James's own bookings dashboard. It's strictly necessary for that feature to work and isn't used to track visitors, and we don't currently use any analytics or advertising cookies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything that's inaccurate
- Delete your data (where we're not required to keep it, e.g. for tax records)
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time
