Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

These terms apply whenever you book a job with Blast & Brush (run by James Hughes), whether online or by phone/WhatsApp. By paying a deposit or confirming a booking, you agree to them.

1. Quotes & pricing

Prices shown online are an instant guide price. The final price is confirmed free of charge, on site, before any work begins — so there are no surprises. Some jobs (for example block paving) may need extra work such as re-sanding or sealing once we've assessed it in person, which we'll always agree with you first.

2. Booking & deposits

A deposit (shown at checkout, normally 20% of the estimate) secures your chosen date and is deducted from your final bill. The remaining balance is due on completion, by card, cash or bank transfer.

3. Your right to cancel

Because you can book online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 normally give you 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund of your deposit.

Many of our customers want their job done sooner than that. If you choose a date within the next 14 days, you are asking us to start work during that cooling-off period. By ticking the agreement box when you book, you confirm you're happy for us to do this, and understand that:
  • if we finish the job before the 14 days are up, you lose the right to cancel for a refund;
  • if you cancel after we've started but before we've finished, we may keep an amount that fairly reflects the work and materials already used.
If your chosen date is more than 14 days away, the standard 14-day right to cancel applies in full.

4. Cancelling or rescheduling

Let us know at least 48 hours before your booked time and we'll refund your deposit in full or move it to a new date, whichever you prefer. Cancelling with less notice, or not being in if access is needed, may mean your deposit isn't refunded, as we'll have held that time for you.

5. Access on the day

Please make sure we can safely reach the area being worked on, and let us know in advance if we'll need access to an outdoor tap or power socket. We'll confirm exactly what's needed for your job when we quote it.

6. Surfaces & pre-existing condition

Jet washing can sometimes reveal damage that was already there — loose or cracked blocks/slabs, weak pointing, or old flaking coatings underneath. We take great care, but we can't be held responsible for pre-existing defects. Block paving is often recommended for re-sanding (and optionally sealing) after washing to protect it going forward.

7. Plants & property

We take reasonable care to protect plants, borders and belongings near the work area. If anything is especially delicate, please point it out (or move it) before we start.

8. Weather

Fence painting and staining need dry conditions for a good finish. If the weather won't allow it, we'll get in touch to reschedule.

9. Insurance

We're in the process of arranging full public liability insurance and will confirm our cover on request. If this is important for your job, please ask us before booking.

10. Our guarantee

We take pride in our work. If something isn't right, tell us within 7 days of the job and we'll come back and put it right, free of charge.

11. Your data

We only use your details to provide your quote and booking. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

12. Questions or complaints

Call or WhatsApp 07984 371 669 — we'd always rather sort a problem directly with you first.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
